Report: U.S. warships positioned in case of attack on Syria

{mosads}According to Reuters, the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier and four other ships in its strike group began moving into the area at around 6 a.m. EDT.

The ships haven’t yet been given orders to head into the Mediterranean, where more U.S. warships are stationed in preparation for a possible missile strike against Syria.

President Obama said on Saturday that while he believes a military attack on Syria is necessary, he’ll seek congressional approval before proceeding. Congress is due to return from recess Sept. 9.
