NCIS agent to plead guilty in bribery case

An NCIS agent accused of taking bribes has agreed to plead guilty and cooperate with investigators in a Navy bribery case, The Washington Post reports.

{mosads}John Beliveau II, a Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) supervisory special agent, will plead guilty next week in federal court in San Diego.

He is charged with helping Glenn Defense Marine Asia, a Navy contractor based in Singapore, dodge criminal investigations by leaking inside information in exchange for prostitutes, cash and other favors.

“He will be pleading guilty and admitting his conduct,” said his attorney, Gretchen Von Helms.

Two Navy commanders have also been arrested on charges of taking bribes, and others have been suspended or are under investigation in the case.

The Post reports that Beliveau has agreed to share information about his relationship with Glenn Defense President Leonard Glenn Francis, known as “Fat Leonard,” who is a co-defendant in the case and has pleaded not guilty.
