Poll: Most back Iran nuclear deal

A majority of the public supports a deal with Iran that would ease economic sanctions against the country in exchange for curbing Tehran’s nuclear program, according to a new poll.

{mosads}The CNN/ORC International poll released Thursday found 56 percent of respondents favored the deal to restrict Iran’s nuclear enrichment, but not completely stop it. The poll found 39 percent were opposed to the deal.

The issue falls along party lines, as two-third of Democrats supported the Iranian deal but only 45 percent of Republicans.

Six world powers — the United States, Britain, Germany, France, Russia and China — are negotiating in Geneva with Iran this week to try to finalize an interim agreement.
