House Science panel requests new answers from Equifax

The House Science Committee on Monday requested a new batch of documents in its investigation into the Equifax data breach.

In a letter, the committee asks for the names of all people notified of the security vulnerability eventually exploited by hackers to steal personal information on 145.5 million Americans from the credit bureau.

The letter also requests data including week-by-week accountings of the number of individuals whose information was exfiltrated from the Equifax servers.

The House Science panel has made several requests for information from the firm that have yet to be filled.

“We look forward to Equifax providing all documents in response to the five categories of requested materials in [a] September 14 [letter], as well as the requests that were made at subsequesnt Commettee briefings,” Monday’s letter notes.
