Trump hotels reportedly hacked again

Hackers may have breached Donald Trump’s hotels for the second time in under a year, according to a new report.

The Trump Hotel Collection, owned by the Republican presidential front-runner, is investigating a potential breach of its credit card system, according to noted security news site KrebsOnSecurity, which first reported the potential breach.

{mosads}“We are in the midst of a thorough investigation on this matter,” the company said in a statement. “We are committed to safeguarding all guests’ personal information and will continue to do so vigilantly.”

If confirmed, it would be the second hack of the luxury hotel properties since last summer.

Last October, Trump Hotel Collection said it had uncovered a data breach at seven of its locations during a period spanning over a year. The affected hotels were in New York, Miami, Chicago, Las Vegas, Waikiki and Toronto.

While it claimed no data was taken from the networks, the company said customers’ payment information may have been exposed to malware when it was being punched into the system.

Trump’s hotel company is just one in a string of prominent hospitality firms that have been felled by hackers over the last year.

Since October, Hyatt Hotels Corp., Hilton Worldwide and Starwood Hotels & Resorts have all acknowledged that hackers had infiltrated their payment systems.
