Former Intel chairman joins DC think tank

The former head of the House Intelligence Committee is joining the Hudson Institute, where he will focus on cyber warfare, counterterrorism and national security.

Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) will join the think tank as a distinguished fellow — one of the many hats the former chairman is trying on after retiring from the House last year.

Rogers on Tuesday said the group is “doing incredible work on international challenges and [the] importance of U.S. engagement.”

“He is widely respected around the globe for his expertise on intelligence, cyberwarfare, and counterterrorism strategy,” said Kenneth Weinstein, the group’s president.

Last year, the Intel leader announced he would retire at the end of his term and take a job in radio. He began a syndicated radio feature “Something to Think About” earlier this month on Cumulus radio.

Rogers was a regular on cable news during his time in Congress. Earlier this month, CNN announced he would become a national security commentator for the network.
