Choose strength, choose unity, choose Scalise for House Speaker

We’re at a crossroads, and the decisions we make today will impact not just this Congress but the very trajectory of our country. That’s why I’m not just endorsing Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) for Speaker of the House; I’m urgently calling for all hands on deck to make this vision a reality.

Let’s face it, unity isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity for our survival as a conference. I’ve been in the room with Scalise, strategizing, debating, and ultimately finding results. His unifying leadership is not just a ‘nice-to-have’; it’s essential for the work we are elected to do. 

A Tireless Advocate for Conservative Principles 

Few people embody the conservative spirit like Scalise. From his influential role as Republican Study Committee chairman to his current responsibilities, he’s been a driving force for the conservative cause. He doesn’t merely support our values—he fights for them, day in and day out. 

A Track Record of Delivering When It Matters 

When Scalise served as majority whip, he didn’t just aim for 218 votes on the floor—he secured them. Time and time again, he turned potential defeats into resounding victories, setting the gold standard for legislative effectiveness. 

A Leader Who Empowers 

I’ll never forget how Scalise handled the Secure the Border Act. When others might have barreled ahead, he hit pause and brought us into the room—making sure every voice was heard, every concern was considered. The result was the most conservative border bill to ever pass the House. That’s leadership in its purest form. 

A Vision for Growing Our Majority 

Scalise isn’t just focused on today; he’s committed to securing a brighter tomorrow by supporting conservative candidates who will help expand our majority. This isn’t optional; it’s an urgent necessity. Scalise’s strategic vision offers a blueprint for turning electoral possibilities into future conservative victories. 

Putting the Opposition on Defense 

Under Scalise’s leadership, we’ve also made tremendous strides in putting the Democrats on the defensive. From introducing our DC Crime Bill to ending the COVID emergency, Scalise has proven his adeptness at taking the fight to the opposition, standing strong where others might waver.

But there’s more to Scalise than his political acumen. I’ve witnessed his extraordinary resilience and mental fortitude, especially when facing personal health challenges. It’s not just that he’s physically strong; he has a mental toughness that’s truly awe-inspiring. This strength isn’t just a testament to his character; it serves as an inspiration to those of us fortunate enough to serve alongside him. 

We’re at an urgent moment that calls for more than just competent leadership; it demands transformational leadership. A leadership that can unify us, amplify our conservative values, and deliver not just legislative wins but also electoral victories. That leader, without a shadow of a doubt, is Steve Scalise. 

So, I’m not asking; I’m imploring my colleagues to recognize the weight of this moment and unite under the incredible leadership of Rep. Steve Scalise. Because the urgency of now leaves no room for hesitation.
