“How dare lowlife prosecutor, Deranged Jack Smith, breaking into my Twitter account without informing me and, indeed, trying to completely hide this atrocity from me,” Trump posted to his Truth Social account on Monday.
“What could he possibly find out that is not already known.”
Court filings unsealed last week show Smith subpoenaed and obtained a search warrant that ordered X, the company formerly known as Twitter, to hand over documents related to Trump’s account.
Trump’s account had been shut down after the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack.
The case also fined X $350,000 for delaying compliance with a court order of the records.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) also acquired a nondisclosure order prohibiting X from disclosing the existence or contents of the search warrant to anyone, including Trump. The case ruling did not go into special detail regarding the search warrant or the subpoena.
