Shortly after ticket sales opened for “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” set to hit theaters next month, the film set presale records.
AMC, the largest theater chain in the U.S., brought in $26 million in the first day of presale tickets, topping a previous records set by “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” the company said in a statement.
Jerramy Hainline, senior vice president at Fandango Ticketing, told Deadline that the concert film is also the “best first-day ticket seller of the year on Fandango.”
Swift “is performing like the superhero she is and ranking among the best first-day ticket sellers of all time from franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, DC Comics and more,” he said.
“Taylor Swift is giving moviegoing fans and the entire industry the ultimate gift by bringing Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film to the big screen,” Hainline said.
