Rep.-elect Bob Good (R-Va.-05)
Date of birth: Sept. 11, 1965
Residence: Campbell County, Va.
Occupation: former Campbell County supervisor
Education: B.S., M.B.A., Liberty University
Family: wife, Tracey; three children
Bob Good will take over the seat currently held by outgoing Rep. Denver Riggleman (R) after defeating him in the GOP primary this year.
Good has touted himself as a “bright red Biblical and constitutional conservative” who will “emphasize our Judeo-Christian principles upon which our nation was founded.”
Riggleman had faced backlash from conservatives over his decision to officiate a same-sex marriage.
Good previously served on the Campbell County Board of Supervisors and worked as an athletics administrator at Liberty University, where he also obtained his two degrees.
The district, which spans all the way from the North Carolina border to parts of Northern Virginia, has consistently swung for Republicans for the past decade despite Democrats’ efforts in recent years to make it more competitive.
