Trump supporter Ed Martin out at CNN after four-month stint
Ed Martin, a staunch supporter of President Trump who signed on as a CNN contributor just four months ago, has been let go by the network.
Martin hosts a radio talk show in St. Louis. He was hired by CNN in September after another pro-Trump contributor, Jeffery Lord, was abruptly fired. Lord was fired after mocking the president of Media Matters by tweeting a Nazi salute to him in protest for what he called “anti-speech” tactics against conservative media members by the liberal media watchdog organization. {mosads}
The decision by the network comes after Media Matters flagged that Martin had not appeared on CNN since mid-December, after stating on his radio program that some panelists on a CNN segment he appeared on were “black racists.” His fellow panelists included CNN contributors Ana Navarro, Symone Sanders and April Ryan.
Navarro celebrated the news with a tweet to her 729,000 followers: “Bye. Fe-Li-Cia.”

“Bye. Fe-Li-Cia,” is a popular meme that stems from the 1995 film “Friday” by rapper and actor Ice Cube.
Martin also said on his radio show earlier this week that it was “really funny” and “amazing to see” CNN White House chief correspondent Jim Acosta get kicked out of the Oval Office by President Trump.
“Did you say that you want more people to come in from Norway? Did you say that you wanted more people from Norway? Is that true, Mr. President?” Acosta asked the president on Tuesday.
“I want them to come in from everywhere. Everywhere. Thank you very much everybody,” Trump responded.
