Charlie Rose on accusations: ‘It’s not wrongdoings’

Television journalist Charlie Rose said in the wake of numerous allegations of sexual misconduct against him that he was not involved in any “wrongdoings.” 

A TMZ photojournalist asked Rose outside of his apartment in New York City on Monday if the veteran journalist had anything to say to the women who had accused him of wrongdoings. 

“It’s not wrongdoings,” Rose said, smiling as he entered his apartment. 

Rose’s comments came after The Washington Post reported that eight women had accused the influential television anchor of sexual misconduct. 

{mosads}The allegations against Rose ranged from walking around naked in front of women who worked for him to making lewd suggestions during phone calls to groping them. 

Rose had served as co-anchor of “CBS This Morning” for five years and hosted his own show on PBS. 

The two networks have since suspended Rose. 

Rose issued his own statement on Monday, acknowledging he had “behaved insensitively at times” and that he did not believe all of the allegations are true. 

“It is essential that these women know I hear them and that I deeply apologize for my inappropriate behavior. I am greatly embarrassed. I have behaved insensitively at times, and I accept responsibility for that, though I do not believe that all of these allegations are accurate. I always felt that I was pursuing shared feelings, even though I now realize I was mistaken,” Rose said.
