Trump: Clinton got questions to debate early

Donald Trump on Monday argued that Hillary Clinton got the questions to a presidential debate in advance.

The charge is part of the argument Trump, the Republican nominee, has been making that the presidential campaign is being rigged against him and that media outlets are actively working with Clinton, the Democratic nominee, to defeat him.

There’s no evidence that Clinton or Trump have received any questions in advance at the first two debates.

However, a recent WikiLeaks email dump did appear to show Democratic National Committee (DNC) interim Chairwoman Donna Brazile sending a question to Clinton campaign communications director Jennifer Palmieri ahead of a Democratic primary event in March.

Brazile, who at the time was a DNC vice chairwoman and a CNN contributor, has denied sending the question.

Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) took part in the event — billed as a town hall event and not a debate. It featured a question on the death penalty phrased almost exactly as a question in Brazile’s email released by WikiLeaks.

Brazile’s subject header in the email to Palmieri was “from time to time I get questions in advance.”

Top Republican lawmakers have disputed Trump’s claims that the election is being fixed against him.

Trump’s running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) all have downplayed Trump’s claims.

Yet a Morning Consult/Politico poll released on Monday shows 41 percent of voters think the election could be stolen from Trump due to widespread voter fraud.
