Lobbying World: Former Schumer aide, House chief moves to Public Strategies Washington

Abbie Sorrendino is joining Public Strategies Washington as a principal. A 15-year Capitol Hill veteran, Sorrendino was most recently chief of staff for House Administration Committee Ranking Member Joe Morelle (D-N.Y.) and is a former longtime aide to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.). She’s also a former Obama White House associate and was a staffer on his 2008 presidential campaign.

Evan Giesemann is now a manager at Washington Council EY, the tax, legislative and regulatory arm of the global accounting giant Ernst & Young. Giesemann was most recently a tax policy adviser to Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.).

Monument Advocacy tapped Rodgers Houston as the firm’s new head of marketing and brand strategy. She was most recently director of marketing and business development at Offit Kurman and is an Arnold & Porter alum.

The Ferguson Group (TFG) welcomed Courtney Miller, former legislative director for Rep. Shontel Brown (D-Ohio), as a senior associate.
