Viral clip appears to show men climbing border wall in Mexicali

A video clip showing men appearing to climb the newly developed border wall between Mexico and the U.S. has gone viral since it was posted Tuesday.

The video, which is 38 seconds long, shows three men using a ladder to scale the wall, with one holding the ladder while the other two climb. One of the men slides down the railing of the wall onto the U.S. side before running to scale another barrier.

{mosads}In the background, a person yells in Spanish “Hurry, hurry, jump the fence,” the Palm Springs Desert Sun reported.

Then, a U.S. Border Patrol vehicle appears and the other two men take down the ladder and remain on the Mexican side of the wall.

Customs and Border Protection (CPB) apprehended one of the individuals, a “16-year-old Mexican national,” a spokesperson for the organization told The Hill.

A CPB official said in a video on Twitter that the two other men have not been apprehended, but that through partnerships with the government of Mexico, “coordination” is underway to locate these subjects.

The video was sent to Desert Sun photojournalist Omar Ornelas who posted it on Twitter, and it has received 2.9 million views as of Thursday morning.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection started building the wall along the U.S.-Mexico border in Calexico, Calif., in February, but it is not a part of President Trump’s border wall campaign promise as it was approved in 2009, the Desert Sun reported.
