U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Sunday said that Iranian President Hassan Rouhani should “look in the mirror” after he blamed the United States for a deadly attack on a military parade in his country.

“I think what Rouhani needs to do is, he needs to look at his own home base. He’s got — the Iranian people are protesting. He has oppressed his people for a long time. And he needs to look at his own base to figure out where that’s coming from,” Haley said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

{mosads}”I think the Iranian people have had enough, and that’s where all of this is coming from. But, having said that, he can blame us all he wants, but the thing he’s got to do is look in the mirror,” she continued.

Haley was responding to comments Rouhani made Sunday blaming the U.S. and American-supported Gulf states for the attack.

“All of those small mercenary countries that we see in this region are backed by America. It is Americans who instigate them and provide them with necessary means to commit these crimes,” Rouhani said Sunday, according to The Associated Press.

Rouhani also said Sunday that Iran is ready to “confront America.”

More than two dozen people died Saturday during an attack on a military parade in Iran.

The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria and an Arab opposition group called the Ahvaz National Resistance both claimed responsibility for the attack, but neither provided evidence for their claims.
