House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) said on Sunday that there will be action in the House this week if the FBI and the Department of Justice (DOJ) do not comply with subpoena requests.

“We either have compliance, we have partial compliance or we have noncompliance. And [Speaker] Paul [Ryan (R-Wis.)] made it very clear; there’s going to be action on the floor of the House this week if the FBI and DOJ do not comply with our subpoena request,” Gowdy told “Fox News Sunday.”{mosads}

“So [Deputy Attorney General] Rod Rosenstein, [FBI Director] Chris Wray, you were in the meeting, you understood him just as clearly as I did. We’re going to get compliance or the House of Representatives is going to use its full arsenal of constitutional weapons to gain compliance,” Gowdy added.

In March, the House Judiciary Committee subpoenaed the FBI and DOJ for documents related to the FBI’s handling of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, potential surveillance abuse and the firing of former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.

Both departments have yet to provide the requested documents.

“Under the heading of minor miracles, you had members of the House working on a Friday,” Gowdy said. “You had [House Intelligence Committee Chairman] Devin Nunes [R-Calif.], [House Judiciary Chairman] Bob Goodlatte [R-Va.], myself and everyone you can think of from the FBI and the DOJ, and we went item by item on both of those outstanding subpoenas.”

“There is no ambiguity, the Speaker of the House was really clear: you’re going to comply or there’s going to be floor action, and I think they got the message,” Gowdy said.
