Man arrested after attacking WWE wrestler Seth Rollins near ring
Authorities arrested a man after he attacked WWE wrestler Seth Rollins during a live event.
A New York Police Department (NYPD) spokesperson told ESPN that Elisah Spencer ran at Rollins and tackled him during a live broadcast of WWE’s Monday Night Raw at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
NYPD said at about 9:20 p.m., Spencer left his seat and jumped over the security barricade and attacked Rollins, who is one of the promotion’s biggest stars and former world champion.
Rollins was walking backstage following a segment with fellow wrestler Finn Balor, according to ESPN.
Videos surfaced on social media showing the attacker and Rollins fighting on the ground momentarily before security and WWE personnel broke up the fight.

The altercation was seen on live television, but WWE swiftly shifted its cameras away as it became apparent it wasn’t a part of the skit, ESPN reported.
Rollins, who suffered a swollen lip from the attack, refused medical attention, NYPD told the sports media outlet.
“WWE takes the safety of its performers very seriously,” WWE said in a statement, via ESPN. “The individual who attacked Seth Rollins has been turned over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
