14 people grab $120K worth of merchandise from Louis Vuitton store near Chicago

Illinois police said more than a dozen people stole $120,000 worth of merchandise from a Louis Vuitton store near Chicago, NBC News reported.

The Oak Brook Police Department (OBPD) said the incident took place at the store in the Oakbrook Center in Illinois on Wednesday afternoon.

According to security footage, suspects wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts entered the luxury department store and grabbed bags and other goods before storming out.

Police said the 14 suspects all entered three gateway vehicles and left the scene, according to NBC News.

The OBPD said that it recovered one of the vehicles, a Dodge Charger that was reported stolen in October.

“We are still developing and working several leads to identify the offenders involved in our incident,” the OBPD said in a statement.

The OBPD added that no injuries were reported and no weapons were displayed during the incident, NBC News noted.

This comes after other high-end retailers Yves Saint Laurent, Hermes and Fendi had their stores looted and vandalized in the San Francisco area on Friday.

The Hill has reached out to the OBPD for comment and more information.
