2 dead, 2 injured in Alabama factory shooting

Two people are dead and two are injured following a shooting at an Alabama fire hydrant factory Tuesday, according to police.

Authorities said that an unnamed suspect is still on the run.

“For an unknown reason an employee of the industry began firing a weapon at fellow employees,” Albertville Police Chief Jamie Smith said, NBC News reported.

The shooting occurred early Tuesday morning at Mueller Company. The shooter drove off after the attack.

Two died from the attack and two are injured. The two injured were taken to Marshall Medical Center South, Smith said, though details about their condition are still unknown.

The U.S. has seen more than 260 mass shootings so far this year following the loosening of coronavirus restrictions and state reopenings.

The Hill has reached out to Albertville police for comment.
