2 dead, 10 missing after boat overturns in Key West

Two people are dead and 10 others are missing after a boat overturned in Key West, Florida, officials said Thursday.

The Coast Guard said in a tweet that eight people were rescued from the scene, located about 18 miles southwest of Key West. Two bodies were also recovered from the water around 1 p.m.  

Those rescued told the Coast Guard they were on a boat that had overturned, but no boat was present at the scene, CNN reported. Additional rescue units have been dispatched to the area to continue searching for the additional people who were reportedly aboard the boat.
