Caitlyn Jenner in new campaign video slams California for being No. 1 in regulations, taxes and ‘people exiting’
Reality star Caitlyn Jenner (R), who is running for governor of California, released a campaign video on Saturday slamming the state for being No. 1 one in regulations, taxes and “people exiting.”
“We’re number one in regulations, we’re number one in taxes and we’re number one in people exiting the state,” Jenner said.
“It doesn’t have to be that way. They’re leaving for one reason and one reason only, and that is overbearing government, overreaching government, overtaxing us, overregulating us,” Jenner added.
Jenner and several other Republicans are running to beat Governor Gavin Newsom (D) in a recall election.
Jenner said the state needs “less regulations and less taxes” in order to compete with Texas and Florida who are “taking our citizens and our businesses away.”
“We need to change what’s happening here. We’ve got more to offer here in California than Texas or Florida, combined,” Jenner added.
Jenner is struggling against the other Republican candidates with only six percent of support among registered voters.
The top two Republican candidates in the race are former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer and businessman John Cox, both of whom have 22 percent support among registered voters.
“We just have to have a good business environment and less regulations on the people here in this state and that’s what I plan on fighting for,” Jenner said. “I need your support. I cannot do this alone. Let’s take back California for the people.”
