2 dead in Wisconsin casino shooting

At least two people were killed by a gunman before he was shot and killed by responding police at the Oneida Casino in Green Bay, Wis. Saturday evening, according to local officials.

An official with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office said at a press conference that the gunman, whose identity was not immediately released, appeared to be targeting an employee of the casino who was not present at the time of the shooting.

“He was targeting a specific victim who was not there, but he decided to still shoot some of the victim’s friends or co-workers, it appears,” said Lt. Kevin Pawlak, according to The Associated Press.

Conflicting news reports indicated that either two or three victims died from gunshot wounds.

At least five other people were injured, and the extent of their injuries was not immediately known, according to local news affiliate CBS 58.

Video taken during the incident and shared on Twitter by local news affiliate WFRV showed dozens of people fleeing the building, which is owned by the Oneida Nation, while officers responded to the scene.
