Former New York Giants wide receiver Travis Rudolph was arrested and charged with first-degree murder on Wednesday, as Pro Football Talk reports.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Rudolph was taken into custody following reports of a double shooting that happened after midnight in Lake Park, Fla.
One victim died at the scene while the other one was taken to a nearby hospital.
The local sheriff’s office said a total of four people were allegedly “shot at or by” Rudolph. He is being held without bond on four counts of first-degree premeditated murder.
Rudolph, 25, went viral in 2016 when he was a wide receiver at Florida State University for visiting a local elementary school and having lunch with a student who has autism.
Rudolph had a brief NFL career, joining the Giants as an undrafted free agent and making their roster in 2017. He was also on the Miami Dolphins’ practice squad in 2018.
