Katrina Pierson, a former national spokesperson for the former President Trump’s 2016 campaign, secured victory Tuesday in her primary runoff race to unseat incumbent Texas state Rep. Justin Holland.

Holland was among a handful of GOP incumbents targeted Tuesday for his votes against Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R).

Holland, who has represented his district since 2017, did not support Abbott’s signature school voucher program and was among the dozens of Republicans who voted to impeach Paxton. He also voted to raise the age for purchasing assault rifles from 18 to 21.

Abbott campaigned with Pierson leading up to the Tuesday night election. Paxton also endorsed her campaign.

Abbott and Paxton took to social media to congratulated Pierson on her victory.

“Congratulations to @KatrinaPierson for DEFEATING Austin RINO Justin Holland,” Paxton’s campaign account posted on the social platform X. “You have sent a strong message to Austin that if members continue to prioritize Democrats over our Conservative Agenda they will not return in 2026.”

“Congratulations to @KatrinaPierson on an incredible VICTORY in her Republican Primary Runoff in House District 33! #txlege,” Abbott’s campaign account posted on X.

The Hill has reached out to Holland’s campaign for a statement.
