1 killed, 3 injured after shooting at California Costco
One person was killed and three others were injured in a shooting inside a Southern California Costco store late Friday.
Police were called to the scene just after 7:45 p.m., according to an online release from the Corona, Calif., police department. Authorities say one person died as a result of their injuries, while three others, including an off-duty police officer, were taken to local hospitals in unknown conditions.
{mosads}An unidentified man was taken into custody in connection with the shooting, which reportedly stemmed from an argument inside the big-box store, according to CNN. Lt. Jeff Edwards of the Corona police said the relationship between the victims and the alleged gunman was not immediately clear, CNN reported.
Edwards said the incident isn’t believed to be a domestic dispute.
The department later tweeted that the incident had been “stabilized” and that there was no continued threat to the community.
The shooting incident at the Costco in Corona has been stabilized. There is no apparent threat to our community from any outstanding persons. We will release more information as we work to confirm the facts. #coronacostcoshooting

The gunman told authorities he was injured, according to CNN. Others were injured trying to flee the store, Edwards told the outlet.
Rochelle Flores, who was shopping at Costco when the gunshots rang out, said Costco’s emergency doors would not open as people started to flee the store.
“It’s not very fun when you’re scared and you’re running for your life, and you’re trying to open a door that says ’emergency’ and they don’t open,” Flores told KTLA. “Everybody was freaking out. People were falling over each other.”
