Fetterman surpasses 250,000 individual contributions in US Senate race

Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman (D) on Tuesday announced that he has surpassed 250,000 in individual contributions for his bid for U.S. Senate. 

“The 250,000 contributions milestone is a testament to the strength and size of the movement we are building,” Fetterman said in his statement. “When we launched this campaign, we knew this is exactly what it would come down to: grassroots support and small-dollar donations. Gisele and I just continue to be amazed by the power of the grassroots. We are simply overwhelmed with gratitude.”

The statement also shared that Fetterman has raised twice as much as any candidate running in the state Senate race, saying that more than 52,000 Pennsylvanians have contributed to his campaign.

This comes after the campaign reported a massive second-quarter haul of $2.5 million, which adds to the total of $6.5 million made since Fetterman’s campaign launch this year. 

“Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your support, and getting us to 250k individual contributions, mean the world to me and this campaign. Gisele and I can’t say it enough,” Fetterman said in his Twitter thread.

Fetterman is running in a crowded race to replace retiring Sen. Pat Toomey (R). The battleground contest is one of the marquee battles in the 2022 midterms.
