Rubio sends cryptic tweet about villains, ‘crooked talk’

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) early Friday shared a cryptic message on Twitter about villains and “crooked talk.”

“Scoundrels, villains, are they who deal in crooked talk,” Rubio tweeted. “Proverbs 6:12.”

Rubio normally tweets a Bible verse every day, but his tweet comes at an interesting time as the vote count winds down in an extremely close presidential election.

While it was not made clear what Rubio was referencing, the tweet comes after President Trump’s comments from the White House on Thursday, in which he challenged the electoral process without evidence and claimed that the election was being stolen from him.

“If you count the legal votes, I easily win. If you count the illegal votes, they can try to steal the election from us. If you count the votes that came in late, we’re looking at them very strongly,” Trump told reporters.

The president’s remarks drew rebukes from some of his Republican allies, including former GOP Sen. Rick Santorum (Pa.), who said “For the president to claim fraud without any evidence is dangerous.”

Rubio, a staunch Trump ally, tweeted later Friday morning “faith in our election is as important as the outcome. Preserving it requires not allowing the outcome to be decided by either the media or a candidate.”

“Transparently count every legally cast vote & allow courts to decide claims of irregularities or fraud on the basis of evidence,” he tweeted.
