Cassidy wins reelection in Louisiana

Sen. Bill Cassidy (R) is projected to win reelection against his chief Democratic challenger Adrian Perkins in Louisiana.

Cassidy was first elected to the Senate in 2014, after serving several terms in the House representing Louisiana’s 6th Congressional District. He had unseated Democratic incumbent Mary Landrieu, who held the seat since 1997.

Cassidy was the second senator to test positive for the novel coronavirus after he came in contact with someone who was infected in August.
