GOP senator: Most people have said things like ‘horseface’
Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy (R) rebuked President Trump on Wednesday after the president called Stormy Daniels “Horseface,” but went on to suggest that such insults were commonplace among American voters.
Speaking on CNN’s “New Day,” Kennedy said that he wished Trump had not used the term to describe the adult-film star, who claims she had an affair with the president in 2006.
{mosads}”I wish he hadn’t said it,” Kennedy said. “I mean, look. We’ve all done something like that before.”
“Have you?” interjected co-anchor Alisyn Camerota.
“We all have. No, I wouldn’t tweet it, but we all have,” he added over Camerota’s continued protests.
“I think most people have. They made fun of somebody because of the way they looked. It’s not right. It happens all the time on social media. It detracts, substantially … that’s an understatement,” Kennedy continued.
“I wish the president hadn’t done it,” Kennedy added. “I think the president grows anxious when he has unexpressed thoughts. [But] there’s some things you just shouldn’t say.”
Kennedy’s remarks followed a judge’s decision to dismiss Daniels’s defamation case against the president and his former lawyer Michael Cohen, which Daniels filed earlier this year along with attorney Michael Avenatti in the hopes of proving that Trump had defamed her character by denying an affair with her.
The president tweeted a victory message on Tuesday after the case was dismissed, writing that he can now “go after Horseface and her 3rd rate lawyer in the Great State of Texas.”
” ‘Federal Judge throws out Stormy Danials lawsuit versus Trump. Trump is entitled to full legal fees.’ @FoxNews Great, now I can go after Horseface and her 3rd rate lawyer in the Great State of Texas. She will confirm the letter she signed! She knows nothing about me, a total con!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

Daniels fired back with a sexual reference to Trump and blasting the president for his “incompetence” and misogyny.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present your president. In addition to his…umm…shortcomings, he has demonstrated his incompetence, hatred of women and lack of self control on Twitter AGAIN! And perhaps a penchant for bestiality. Game on, Tiny,” Daniels wrote.
