Trump: Dems playing destructive ‘con game’ with Kavanaugh
President Trump on Tuesday accused Democrats of playing “the politics of destruction” with Brett Kavanaugh, as the Supreme Court nominee seeks to fend of allegations of sexual misconduct.
The president wrote that Democrats are “laughing” behind the scenes about the allegations, which he characterized as “vicious” smears and false stories.
{mosads}”The Democrats are playing a high level CON GAME in their vicious effort to destroy a fine person,” Trump said in a tweet.
“It is called the politics of destruction. Behind the scene the Dems are laughing. Pray for Brett Kavanaugh and his family!” he added.

Kavanaugh on Thursday is set to address allegations from Christine Blasey Ford, a Palo Alto University professor, at a hearing in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which Ford has been invited to testify at as well. The panel is set for a vote on sending his nomination to the Senate floor on Friday.
Ford came forward in an interview last week with The Washington Post, telling the newspaper that Kavanaugh held her down and muffled her screams for help while trying to remove her clothes at a high school party in the 1980s.
Deborah Ramirez, who came forward with her own allegation this week in an interview with The New Yorker, has been in talks with the committee through her attorneys who have accused Republicans of ignoring her desire to testify.
The committee’s chairman, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), told Democrats earlier Tuesday that Friday’s vote would not be delayed over Ford and Ramirez’s requests for an FBI investigation into their claims.
“I respectfully decline your request. I am not going to silence Dr. Ford after I promised and assured her that I would provide her a safe, comfortable, and dignified opportunity to testify,” Grassley wrote in a letter.
