New Orleans Saints star running back arrested for alleged battery at nightclub

New Orleans Saints star running back Alvin Kamara was arrested by authorities for alleged battery at a Las Vegas nightclub on Saturday.

In a statement on Sunday, the Las Vegas Police Department (LVPD) said officers were dispatched to a local medical facility Saturday evening in response to an individual reporting battery at a nightclub. Detectives determined the victim was beaten by Kamara, police said.

Kamara, among the top running backs in football, played in the Pro Bowl on Sunday. He was taken into custody by authorities following the game.

Kamara, 26, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of battery resulting in substantial bodily harm, according to the statement.

According to NFL.com, Kamara spent the night in custody and was released after posting a $5,000 bond.

Kamara is among a number of NFL players who have run into trouble with the law in Las Vegas over the course of the 2021 season.

Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III was arrested and charged in November for his involvement in a deadly DUI crash that killed 23-year-old Tina Tintor and her dog.

Ruggs’s former teammate, Damon Arnette, was arrested by authorities last month on gun and drug charges, leading to his eventual release by the Kansas City Chiefs, ESPN reported

The Raiders initially released Arnette in November after a video surfaced online showing him with a gun threatening to kill someone

Las Vegas police are still investigating the case involving Kamara, who is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, NFL.com reported.
