Trump rails against Biden during Mar-a-Lago wedding speech

Former President Trump over the weekend used a speech at a wedding at his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida to tear into President Biden and his handling of various issues during his first three months in office.

“I’ve been watching the news and they’re telling me about the border, they’re telling me about China,” Trump says in the video. “The border is not good. And what you see now, multiply it times 10.”

Video of Trump’s speech, apparently taken Saturday night during a wedding for John and Megan Arrigo, was obtained and published over the weekend by TMZ

“What’s happening to the kids … they’re living in squalor. They’re living like nobody has ever seen,” a tuxedo-clad Trump is seen saying on the video. “Look, it’s a disaster. It’s a humanitarian disaster from their standpoint and it’s going to destroy the country and, frankly, the country can’t afford it.”

Trump then asks the crowd: “So I just say: Do you miss me yet?” sparking cheers from the group.

The former president then makes comments about how many votes he got in the 2020 presidential election and questions how Biden was able to come from behind on election night and win.

Near the end of the speech, Trump wishes the newlyweds well and calls them a “great and beautiful couple.”

Biden has faced bipartisan criticism in recent weeks over his handling of the surge of migrants crossing the border with Mexico.

Trump made immigration reform a pillar of his 2016 presidential campaign and throughout his presidency, promising to “build a wall” along the southern border and dismantle programs leading to a pathway to citizenship for millions of people living illegally in the country.

Biden has said his administration wants to provide a legal pathway to citizenship for 11 million undocumented people in America.

Trump has not ruled out a run for president in 2024 but has said he intends to support GOP primary challengers in key House and Senate races against Republicans who do not support him or his policies.
