OAN to air three-hour movie from MyPillow CEO

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell has released a three-hour documentary about his baseless claims of election fraud, which this week led to an on-air argument between Lindell and anchors on the conservative network Newsmax.

The film, titled “Absolute Proof,” will be available on cable television, online and will be streamed for 12 hours on One America News Network.

The conservative channel, which over the last several months aired false claims about the election, is putting a disclaimer on the Lindell film stating that it is paid programing and “opinion only.”

It also distanced itself from Lindell’s statements on Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic USA, two voting technology companies that have been at the forefront of conspiracy theories promulgated by former President Trump’s supporters.

Dominion Voting Systems threatened a lawsuit against Lindell in January concerning his claims.

Smartmatic earlier this week sued Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell, two of Trump’s former attorneys, Fox News and three of its hosts for libel in a $2.7 billion case, accusing them of spreading false claims about the company related to the election.

The liberal group Media Matters noted the disclaimer and the fact that OAN would be airing the movie for 12 consecutive hours.

Conspiracy theories surrounding the election were at the center of the attack by a pro-Trump mob on the Capitol last month that interrupted Congress’s certification of the Electoral College results.

The riot underscored the danger caused by conspiracy theories. Five people died in connection to the riot, including a Capitol Police officer. A number of officers were seen in videos being attacked by people from the mob.

Lindell’s baseless claims of election fraud led to his removal from Twitter

Earlier this week, a Newsmax host walked off an on-air interview with Lindell, apparently out of fear the MyPillow CEO would make fraudulent claims about the election.
