Loeffler concedes to Warnock

Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.) released her concession speech Thursday, yielding her race to Sen.-elect Raphael Warnock (D) and ending her campaign.

“Serving our great state has been the honor of my lifetime,” she wrote in a post to Twitter that included a video.

Loeffler said in the video statement that she called Warnock to congratulate him on his victory after she was defeated by nearly 80,000 votes, according to Atlanta News Now.

Warnock’s victory over Loeffler was called early Wednesday morning and Jon Ossoff was also projected as the winner of his race against Republican David Perdue later in the day in a culmination of hotly-contested runoff races, securing 50 seats in the Senate for both the GOP and Democrats. Perdue has not yet conceded.

“While my heart breaks at not being able to continue to serve Georgia and America, I’m tremendously proud of all we achieved together,” Loeffler said in her video.

She also pledged to continue to fight for the American dream and to protect conservative values.

“Rest assured: The fight to advance the American dream is far from over,” she said. “The fight to protect conservative values is far from over. And the fight against socialism and the radical agenda of the left is very far from over.

“I fully intend to stay in this fight for freedom, for our values, and for the future of this great country,” she concluded.
