Ted Cruz asks Jim Carrey for copy of his ‘hellbound’ Cruz artwork

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), the latest subject of Jim Carrey’s political artwork, this week requested his own copy of a piece depicting him in hell.

Carrey, an actor known for his comedic roles and most recently his portrayal of presidential candidate Joe Biden on “Saturday Night Live,” tweeted a photo of a painting in which he likened Cruz to the devil.

“Ted Cruz, Hellbound Class of 2020,” Carrey tweeted Monday along with a portrait of the senator painted in red and surrounded by flames.

“Can I get a copy of this for my office?,” Cruz responded to Carrey’s tweet.

This isn’t the first time Carrey has made political statements through his art. He has previously painted President Trump, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and others.

In 2018, he tweeted a painting in which a caricature of Trump is pictured holding his ear and listening to a cloud of “build that fence” quotations.

He captioned the tweet: “Remember Trump’s loyal zombies chanting, “Build That Fence” at his rallies???”
