Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman (R) announced Wednesday that he tested positive for the coronavirus after originally receiving the “wrong results.”

“After a second try, test results came back positive for Covid-19,” Huntsman, 60, tweeted. “Have been experiencing classic symptoms..like so many others, my goal is to keep my family safe.”

“Though isolated temporarily, we’ve never been more energized in this important race for Governor. The work goes on!” he added.

On Tuesday Huntsman, who served as governor of Utah from 2005 to 2009, said that the Salt Lake County Health Department gave him the “wrong results.”

“Very illuminating to see the process firsthand,” he said.

Huntsman is again running for governor of Utah after he was tapped as then-President Obama’s ambassador to China in 2009. He most recently served two years as U.S. ambassador to Russia under President Trump

He served as the U.S. ambassador to Singapore from 1992 to 1993 and later served as deputy U.S. trade representative under former President George W. Bush.
