Emma Gonzalez calls James Shaw Jr. her hero after Kanye says she is his hero

Marjory Stoneman Douglas student Emma González on Saturday called the man who took the gun from the Waffle House shooter earlier this week her hero.

The tweet appeared to be in response to rap star Kanye West’s tweet calling González his hero.

 

 

Four people were killed and several others were injured after a gunman opened fire at a Waffle House near Nashville early Sunday.  {mosads}

James Shaw Jr. wrestled a gun away from suspected gunman Travis Reinking and has been hailed as a hero. He has since raised more than $183,000 for the victims.

González has been advocating for stricter gun control laws in the wake of the deadly February shooting at her Parkland, Fla. high school. 

West has made headlines over the last week for his support of President Trump. The president has thanked West for his support in response.
