John Podesta: I’m the victim of a ‘big lie campaign’ by Trump

Former Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta said on Tuesday that he was the victim of a “big lie campaign” created by President Trump.

“Not bad enough that I was the victim of a massive cyber crime directed by the Russian President,” Podesta tweeted.

“Now I’m the victim of a big lie campaign by the American President.”

{mosads}Podesta also said Trump seems much more worried now than in July 2016 when the president “asked the Russians to hack our campaign.” He shared an article from that time in which Trump is quoted calling for Russia to “find the 30,000 emails that are missing” from Clinton’s personal email server.

Podesta was the target of an email hack during the campaign.

His brother, Tony Podesta, on Monday stepped down from the lobbying firm he has run for three decades after special counsel Robert Mueller charged former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his top deputy, Richard Gates, with crimes related to his work for a pro-Russia political party in Ukraine.

Trump on Tuesday said Tony Podesta’s exit from his firm was Monday’s “biggest story” instead of the indictment of Manafort.

“The biggest story yesterday, the one that has the Dems in a dither, is Podesta running from his firm,” Trump tweeted.

“What he know about Crooked Dems is earth shattering. He and his brother could Drain The Swamp, which would be yet another campaign promise fulfilled. Fake News weak!”

A report earlier this month said Mueller is investigating Tony Podesta and the Podesta Group.

The siblings co-founded Podesta Group in 1988.
