France paid tribute Friday to the 130 people killed in the terrorist attacks in Paris two weeks earlier.

President François Hollande pledged that France would honor the victims of the attacks, claimed by the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and Syria ( ISIS), with love, more concerts and more music, The Guardian reported Friday. He said the attackers acted “in the name of an insane cause and a betrayed God” and promised that France would do everything possible to destroy the army of fanatics who committed the crimes.

Survivors were among the more than 2,000 people gathered at Friday’s service at Les Invalides in Paris. The complex of buildings is where France has traditionally honored its war dead.

According to The Guardian, a number of the victims came in wheelchairs and stretchers accompanied by Red Cross medics.

Hollande emphasized the youth of the victims, many of whom were under the age of 35, in his 20-minute long speech.

“It’s because they represented life that they were killed, it’s because they represented France that they were slaughtered, it’s because they represented freedom that they were massacred,” he said.
