Publisher McMahon to start new firm

Francine McMahon will be leaving The Hill after 16 years with the publication. She will continue until the end of the year, and her successor will be named shortly.

Francine joined The Hill in 1997 as an advertising sales executive, quickly rising to director of advertising. She spent 2002-2006 as Associate Publisher and was promoted to Publisher, EVP in 2006. Throughout her tenure she has proven herself a highly capable and talented leader not only among her peers, but also among our readers and clients.

“Francine has been a tremendous asset to The Hill,” says Chairman James Finkelstein. “It is due in no small part to her contributions over the years that we are the most visible and trusted publication and website among members of Congress and the government, and we thank her for that. We all wish her the best in her new endeavors.”

Francine leaves The Hill to start her own public image firm, the Capitol Image Counsel (CIC), specializing in public relations, marketing, advertising, leadership and impression coaching for individuals and organizations.

“The Hill truly is an invaluable institution, and I am extraordinarily proud of all that I and my colleagues here have accomplished in my 16 years,” she said. “I look back on my time with great fondness, and take this experience and these relationships with me as I shine Washington’s most favorable light on my clients with the launch of CIC.”
