Wolf Blitzer will host an evening newscast on CNN’s streaming service
CNN’s Wolf Blitzer will host an evening newscast on its new streaming service, CNN+, once it launches, the network announced on Wednesday.
Blitzer’s evening program will be formatted as a traditional evening news show with what CNN described as “a sleek, modern twist.”
Blitzer and the team of journalists working with him will take an “old-school nostalgic approach featuring original reporting from around the world, investigations, and consumer focused stories that matter help put the latest headlines in perspective,” the network said.
A mainstay at CNN or more than 30 years, Blitzer joined the company in 1990 as the network’s military affairs correspondent at the Pentagon.
CNN has made a number of notable hires in recent months as it prepares to launch CNN+ this spring. The network poached longtime Fox News anchor Chris Wallace in December and top Capitol Hill reporter Kasie Hunt from NBC earlier in the year.
The network has also rolled out announcements for a bevy of feature, entertainment and arts programing with hosts like Eva Longoria and viral internet personality Rex Chapman.
