New York Public Library endorses LeVar Burton for ‘Jeopardy!’ host
The New York Public Library is throwing its support behind the effort to make LeVar Burton the permanent host of “Jeopardy!”
“As a public institution, The New York Public Library isn’t in the business of making political endorsements, but upon seeing a recent ‘campaign’… we felt the need to express our support,” a spokesperson said in an email to The Hill.

Burton, the former host of “Reading Rainbow,” has embraced the push. Last week he tweeted out a link to a Change.org petition calling for him to get the “Jeopardy!” gig.
The petition had more than 230,000 signatures as of Wednesday afternoon.

Since longtime host Alex Trebek’s death in November from pancreatic cancer, “Jeopardy!” has enlisted multiple guest hosts to fill his shoes, including Katie Couric, Aaron Rodgers, Mehmet Oz and Sanjay Gupta.
