Fox News goes with wall-to-wall coverage of Limbaugh death

Fox News dedicated the majority of its airtime Wednesday afternoon to covering the death of conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, who died at the ages of 70 earlier in the day after battling lung cancer.

The initial reports of Limbaugh’s death were covered Wednesday morning by Bill Hemmer on Fox’s “America’s Newsroom.” Coverage continued with Harris Faulkner on her show, “The Faulkner Focus.”

As networks like CNN and MSNBC returned to reporting on other news, Fox’s wall-to-wall focus on Limbaugh — which included interviews with former President Trump and network host Tucker Carlson — did not stop.

“He is a legend. He really is. There aren’t too many legends around. But he is a legend,” Trump said, referring to Limbaugh, when he called in to Fox News’s “Outnumbered.” “And those people who listen to him every day, it was like a religious experience for a lot of people.” 

Later in the day, the network announced it would keep offering special live coverage of Limbaugh’s death.

“Throughout daytime and prime-time programming, [Fox News] will provide continuous coverage to honor the life and legacy of Limbaugh,” the network said in a statement to the media.

Fox News also announced that Trump would discuss Limbaugh’s life and legacy during an interview with network host Sean Hannity Wednesday evening.
