Here’s how newspaper front pages across the world looked after mobs stormed the Capitol

Newspapers across the country and the world on Thursday printed front pages covering the riots at the Capitol in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday as the violent scenes drew international attention.

The House and Senate were less than an hour into debating the Electoral College certification process when the Capitol was breached by Trump supporters opposing the results of the 2020 presidential race. 

It was not until after 8 p.m. that members of Congress returned to their respective chambers to resume debates, which lasted into the early hours of Thursday morning before lawmakers finally affirmed President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’s victory. 

On Thursday morning, front pages across the nation reflected the incident, the first time the Capitol has been breached since 1812.
