Fox News inks new multiyear deal with Laura Ingraham

Fox News inked a new multiyear deal with anchor Laura Ingraham to continue hosting “The Ingraham Angle,” the network announced on Wednesday. 

The extended deal for Ingraham means that “The Ingraham Angle,” which airs at 10 p.m., will remain in the prime-time lineup, along with Tucker Carlson’s and Sean Hannity’s shows, after first premiering in 2017. 

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott announced the “multi-year deal” in a press release, but didn’t specify how many years the contract covered. 

“Laura’s one-of-a-kind expertise and powerful commentary has provided an important voice to millions of Americans as a staple of our primetime lineup and we are thrilled to feature her insightful perspective across our platforms for many years to come,” Scott said in a statement.

According to the network, Ingraham is the most-watched 10 p.m. host and the most-watched female host in cable news history. The network said that during its three years, the show has gained viewers between ages 25 and 54, a key demographic for advertisers. 

This year, Fox News reported that “The Ingraham Angle” has had its highest-rated year, averaging 3.6 million viewers and 650,000 in the key demographic. 

“With so many challenges facing Americans, I am more determined than ever to deliver the incisive, pull-no-punches analysis and commentary that our viewers expect and enjoy,” Ingraham said in the release. “It is a great privilege to host an hour each weeknight on FOX News to address the most important, most timely, and sometimes, the most hilarious moments of the day.” 

Ingraham also co-hosts “Laura & Raymond,” which streams on Fox Nation and features her and Raymond Arroyo discussing the news of the day. She first joined Fox News in 2007 as a contributor after hosting a long-running radio show. 

“The Ingraham Angle” joined the prime-time schedule after former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly left the network in 2017 due to sexual harassment allegations levied against him. Former host Megyn Kelly departed for NBC News the same year. 

The Fox News host has seen her share of controversy over the years, including when advertisers dropped her show after she feuded with Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student David Hogg in 2018 following his comments supporting gun reform. Ingraham later apologized to Hogg.
