Trump, Harris most tweeted-about man and woman of 2020
Twitter’s 2020 year in review report found that President Trump and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris were the most tweeted-about man and woman worldwide.
According to the report, Trump was the most tweeted-about person worldwide in 2020, with President-elect Joe Biden coming in second. Harris came in at number 10 and was the only woman to appear in the top 10 most tweeted people.
George Floyd, Kobe Bryant, former President Obama, South Korean boy band BTS, Narendra Modi, Kanye West and Elon Musk also made the list.
“People continued to utilize Twitter to publicly advocate for political change and demand accountability from world leaders this year,” according to the report. “Over 700 million Tweets were sent in 2020 about elections around the world and Donald Trump, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Narendra Modi and Kamala Harris were among the most Tweeted-about global figures.”
Harris also had the distinction of having one of the most liked tweets of the year. The video she posted of her congratulating Biden on his projected presidential win has received 3.4 million likes so far.

The report also noted that #COVID19 and #BlackLivesMatter were the top two most tweeted hashtags this year.
“It will come as no surprise that the top hashtag used by the most people this year was none other than #COVID19,” read the report. “Not only was the hashtag (and other variations on it) Tweeted nearly 400 million times, but we also saw the ways in which it changed how we Tweeted about so many other topics. With much of the world staying home more – in fact, #StayHome was the 3rd biggest hashtag of the year – we saw a change in habits through Twitter.”
