CNN’s Ana Navarro to host Biden roundtable on making ‘Trump a one-term president’
CNN political commentator Ana Navarro will host a “Hispanic-focused” roundtable conversation for presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden as part of an event billed as a discussion on “the important role Florida Hispanics will play in making Donald Trump a one-term president.”

Navarro, one of the president’s staunchest critics on CNN, served as a co-chairwoman on 2008 GOP nominee John McCain’s advisory council. She also supported former Gov. Jeb Bush’s (R-Fla.) run for the White House in 2016.

The news comes after CNN contributor April Ryan had been slated to interview then-Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg at a fundraiser for the former South Bend, Ind., mayor during the primary season in 2019 before backing out, citing the campaign not making it “clear that the venue would be a fundraiser.”
Navarro, also a co-host on ABC’s “The View,” is part of CNN’s opinion side and not an anchor or host.
Still, some journalists and political pundits took to social media Wednesday to question if a network commentator should participate in political campaign events.
Feels like we’ve entered an age of cable where surrogates and hosts just can blend into official campaign functions and no one really cares. Sean Duffy at Trump events. Sean Hannity selling books for the RNC. Now this. https://t.co/Cnl8kQ44am

MediaMatters loves to pounce on Fox talent even if it’s nothing more than a book signing. So why hasn’t @ehananoki called out CNN for this?

Hopefully when Anna Navarro appears on TV it no longer says “Republican strategist or commentator” it should now read “Biden campaign member” since she is now doing events for them.
