Bolton to be interviewed by Fox’s Bret Baier on Tuesday

Former Trump national security adviser John Bolton will be interviewed by Fox News “Special Report” anchor Bret Baier on Tuesday to discuss his new memoir on the Trump administration.

The interview is set to take place on the same day that the book, “The Room Where It Happened,” is set for release. The memoir has been widely discussed, particularly on cable news, as excerpts have emerged in recent days leading up to its full release.

Bolton served as Trump’s third national security adviser, from April 2018 to September 2019, with the book covering his time leading the National Security Council. The book makes a series of claims about Trump dealing with foreign policy and national security.

The president has pushed back on numerous allegations from Bolton that have been released in excerpts of the book this week, arguing that his former aide is a “sick puppy” who is only making them “to make me look bad.” 

“Bolton’s book, which is getting terrible reviews, is a compilation of lies and made up stories, all intended to make me look bad. Many of the ridiculous statements he attributes to me were never made, pure fiction. Just trying to get even for firing him like the sick puppy he is!” Trump tweeted Thursday.

ABC News has also interviewed Bolton, with the full interview set to air on Sunday. In a clip of the interview released Wednesday, Bolton accused Trump of lying while in office.

Bolton was a longtime Fox News contributor before joining the Trump administration. 

His interview with Fox will air on Baier’s weekday program at 6 p.m.
