Fox Business to launch new program hosted by Jack Otter of Barron’s

Fox Business announced Monday that the network will debut a new weekly program hosted by Barron’s editor in chief Jack Otter, part of a push by Fox in a revamp of its slogan and graphics.

The program, slated to air at 10 p.m. Eastern starting this Friday, will feature interviews with “investors and major industry leaders” to preview the week ahead on Wall Street, Fox Business Network said in its announcement.

{mosads}“I am thrilled to bring Barron’s deep investment analysis and market-moving predictions to FOX Business,” Otter said in a statement Monday. “Barron’s has a 98-year tradition of helping investors sort the signal from the noise and build wealth — we look forward to bringing those insights to a new audience on FOX Business.”

Barron’s, which was founded in 1921 by Clarence W. Barron, is a division of News Corp. Fox Business is owned by Fox Corp.

Fox Business competes primarily with CNBC and has had mixed results on the ratings front in the race for total viewers and in the younger 25-54 demographic that advertisers covet most. Ratings for the third quarter are expected sometime this week from Nielsen.

Otter’s 30-minute program will follow “WSJ At Large with Gerry Baker,” hosted by the Wall Street Journal’s former editor-in-chief.

The new program comes as Fox Business unveiled a new slogan, “Invested in You,” new graphics and a new advertising campaign.

“We’ve made Fridays the destination for smart and in-depth business coverage for everyday Americans who aspire to have financial freedom and we’re excited to add Jack to our formidable lineup,” Fox Business President Lauren Petterson said in a statement.

Petterson was named Fox Business president earlier this month, succeeding Brian Jones, who had been with the network since overseeing its launch in 2007.
